The Learning Partnership’s Regional Entrepreneurial Adventure (EA) Program has been designed to instill a sense of entrepreneurial spirit in children from kindergarten to Grade 12. This is the sixth in a series of blog posts that will showcase the journey of school kids as they go through the process of conceptualizing, designing, launching and commercializing their entrepreneurial ventures.
Since our last blog we have almost completed our sensational book, A School That Will Always Be With Us: U.M.R.H.S.
At the moment, we are finishing up the typing of our final stories that occurred at U.M.R.H.S. and scanning our last photos. We have had a lot of information come in the past week.
In fact, just today we had another spontaneous guest speaker – our librarian, Beverly O'Donnell! She was a student at Upper Miramichi Regional High School for 12 years and told us some stories we could use in our book. Ms. O’Donnell was at U.M.H.R.S. from the time she was in grade one all the way to grade 12. She let us borrow a graduation picture and her graduation dress! She showed us what the straps that teachers used to use, look like. When she became a teacher she only had to use it once. Lucky students.
We are almost done and will begin publishing our books on Friday of this week! Our book-launch party will be at 10 a.m. on Wednesday, May 18th. We’ll be selling books at the launch party to help keep memories of U.M.R.H.S. alive.
